I am proud to be 5 Star Rated for sports massage in Nottingham.

Each of my treatments are specifically tailored to suit your individual needs. I will take the time to understand where your discomfort lies and get to the root of the problem. Whether you have muscular tension or occupational dysfunction, I can help!

Sports massage focuses on loosening tight muscles and reducing muscular/ joint stiffness. It is a strong and usually area focused massage that helps to improve range of motion and muscular pain. Aside from reducing tightness and muscular pain it improves circulation and can boost your overall wellbeing. Additionally sports massage can assist with the recovery of injuries and prevent their reoccurrence.

To benefit from a sports massage you do not need to actively participate in sport. Many individuals feel positive effects when treating for daily routine pain and discomfort.

Benefits of a sports massage:

  • Identify and treat injuries and dysfunctions.
  • Reduce and prevent injuries.
  • Improve posture.
  • Improve mobility and flexibility.
  • Reduce muscular pain and inflammation.
  • Corrects muscular dysfunctions and imbalances.
  • Increases blood circulation and promotes recovery.

Myofascial decompression or ‘Cupping’ as we all know it, is a form of an ancient therapy in which a cup is applied to the skin and the pressure within the cup is reduced with either a suction pump or heat to create a vacuum. This vacuum pulls the skin and superficial tissues inside the cup, helping to release muscular adhesions and allows localized pooling of oxygenated blood. The increased blood flow to the area will help draw out any toxins within the tissues, remove stagnated blood and activate the lymphatic system. Due to the increased circulation, cupping has a positive effect on deep tissue muscle repair.

Cupping offers both physical and mental benefits. Cupping can be used on many soft tissue injuries due to the encouragement of oxygen-rich blood to the damaged tissues which promotes recovery.

Cupping also promotes positive mental stimulation. As the bodies, circulatory systems is enhanced and toxins are drawn out, the body will go into a healing and relaxation stage.

Cupping therapy can benefit:

  • Poor or sluggish circulation
  • Tiredness
  • Sciatica
  • Digestion problem
  • Headaches/ migraines
  • Muscular aches and pains
  • Joint inflammation and pain
  • Cellulite
  • Sports injury
  • Insomnia
  • Detoxification.

Suction cupping and sports massage:
Our suction cupping and sports massage is a combination of both suction cupping and sports massage techniques which are used to break down muscular adhesions, improve range of movement, release muscular tension, improve recovery time and enhance overall wellbeing.

Need a firm massage? Look no further. Book our deep tissue massage.

Our deep tissue massage is slightly different from a sports massage treatment, as it is less area-specific but more deep tissue focused. The focus is to provide a firm, deep massage to help remove the muscle tension and general aches and pains that build up from the stresses, strains of daily activities and everyday life.

A deep tissue massage helps to reduce pain caused by excessive muscular tension, such as lower back and upper back pain, neck tension and stiffness around the hips and legs. Deep tissue massage is designed to reduce muscular tension, to assist with providing a reduction in pain and discomfort. This treatment is perfect if you need a firm all-over massage to work out the knots and tension.

Benefits of a Deep Tissue Massage:

  • Release muscle tension.
  • Reduce pain and discomfort.
  • Improve posture.
  • Improve mobility and flexibility.
  • Corrects muscular dysfunctions and imbalances.
  • Increases blood circulation and promotes recovery.

Don’t let injuries get in the way of your active lifestyle. I help people overcome their injuries and direct them on the right road to recovery. From ankle sprains to lower back pain, I have successfully helped many clients become pain-free.

On your first visit, I will take you through a detailed and thorough consultation which will give me a clear view of your daily life. After, I will conduct a full postural and movement assessment and use a range of tests to identify the cause of the problem and create a treatment plan; utilizing a range of methods including soft tissue release, sports massage, PNF/MET stretches, kinesiology taping and ice therapy. You will also undertake movement corrective exercises and be provided with a rehabilitation programme and given injury prevention advice.

Your recovery is my main goal. If I can’t treat, you don’t pay. Some injuries will need referring to another practice, like a physiotherapist or a chiropractor, and if I feel your case needs referring I will recommend the best one for you.

Treatment for pain

Designed to ease out muscular tension from daily tasks.

Most of us complain about some kind of back, neck or shoulder discomforts, such as lower back pain, a stiff neck or aching shoulders. These are common niggles that often come about from bad posture or daily tasks of modern life.

Our 1 hour back, neck and shoulder treatment is designed to relieve you of those general aches and pains we all get in our backs. The back massage includes various deep tissue and superficial techniques to release the muscle tension responsible for causing the pain experienced in our backs.

The treatment is tailored to your preference, ranging from strong to a more relaxing massage.

Do you feel restricted when reaching down to pick something up? Have you felt discomfort in your lower back when sitting for long periods of time?

Due to our daily activities most of us will have some form of hip dysfunction caused by either short (tight) hip muscles or even weak hip muscles. When a muscle in the hips becomes short or restricted, the connective tissues and muscles will compensate to try and continue with more of a natural movement. Over time these compensating muscles will eventually become either weak or restricted themselves leaving the hips out of alignment which can cause lower back pain.

This is very common within people who have sedentary lifestyles. Office workers, long distance drivers and even students will usually suffer from some form of hip dysfunction.

My 1 hour hip release treatment will help correct the soft tissues responsible for causing this problem and ease the pain most of us feel every day. A thorough ‘range of motion’ test will be performed to identify the short muscles and the weaker muscles, and a treatment plan will be created based on the assessment results and an aftercare programme provided to help prolong the treatment to give a longer lasting release.
